Judge Robert C. White was appointed to the bench of the Elyria Municipal Court by Ohio Governor John Kasich in January, 2018.  Prior to taking the bench, he served two years as Acting Judge in the court. Judge White's experience also includes more than twenty-six years in private practice representing individuals, companies and public entities before federal, state and municipal courts, as well as various federal and state administrative agencies. 

Judge White has served the community throughout his legal career.  He was elected to three terms as a Carlisle Township Trustee and was twice elected President of the Lorain County Township Association.  A 1994 Leadership Lorain County graduate, Judge White served as a member of the University Hospital's Elyria Medical Center Board of Directors, the Firelands Association for the Visual Arts Board of Directors, the Comprehensive Health Care of Ohio Board of Directors, the EMH Regional Medical Center Board of Directors, the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board of Lorain County, the Elyria Rotary Club Board of Directors, the Rural Lorain County Water Authority Board of Trustees, and the Lorain County Drug Free Youth Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Ohio State, Lorain County and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations.

A 1978 graduate of Oberlin High School, Judge White worked full time while taking college and law school classes at night.  He attended Lorain County Community College and graduated from Cleveland State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  Judge White earned his Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1991.   He and his wife, Anita, have three children and two grandchildren.
