Erik A. Breunig, Clerk of Elyria Municipal Court
Erik A. Breunig was appointed Clerk in December 2025. A graduate of Ohio University and the University of Akron School of Law, Mr. Breunig has been a practicing attorney in Lorain County since 2004. He is admitted to practice before the Ohio Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
Before he was appointed Clerk, Mr. Breunig was an Assistant Law Director for the City of Elyria, the Village Solicitor for the Village of LaGrange, and a shareholder at Fauver Co., LPA, one of the oldest law firms in Lorain County. He focused his private practice on local government law, estate planning, business succession planning, and probate. In addition to Elyria and LaGrange, his political subdivision clients have included the villages of Grafton and New London, Pittsfield Township, and the cities of Vermilion and Oberlin.
Mr. Breunig is a member of the Ohio Association of Municipal and County Clerks, the Lorain County Bar Association, and the Ohio State Bar Association. He has been previously recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
